Since our inception in 1997, we have funded our operations through a series of financing vehicles that initially included venture capital and other private investments.

Cytokinetics has been publicly traded on the NASDAQ Global Market under the trading symbol “CYTK” since April 2004 and we have funded our operations since then through sales of common stock, contract payments under our collaboration agreements, equity lines of credit, and interest income.

Our philosophy in financing the company has been to examine the most appropriate vehicles that provide us with the lowest cost capital needed to advance our programs. We believe that we have developed a prudent strategy that balances the needs to continue to fund operations and minimize shareholder dilution. Along the way, we have attracted highly seasoned biopharmaceutical institutional investors committed to our vision for the research, development and commercialization of novel mechanism compounds arising from our focus to cytoskeletal pharmacology.
